Follow-up to I’m The Cat’s Caregiver

For the past few days I’ve been dealing with a sick cat who wouldn’t eat.  I shared in a previous post the different things that the vet suggested I try to get Lexie to eat:  canned cat food, chicken and rice baby food and broiled chicken and white rice.  The first two didn’t work and I was determined not to buy chicken breasts for the cat.

Well, I had a thought and I tried it, I gave Lexie some of Cocoa’s food.  Cocoa is my other cat, she eats regular Iams cat food and Lexie eats weight control Iams cat food.  That did the trick.  Lexie has been eating ever since.

She is still a little wobbly on her feet but she’s getting better.  I think in a few more days she’ll be good as new.

Many thanks for helping Lexie. I’m sure Gladys is greatful for your help too. Our feline companions are extremely valuable to us cat-Moms. Let Gladys know that I’ve got 6 furbabies too and I *love* her sense of humor! I wish my Mom was able to verbalize like that.

@Betty - Lexie is doing better, no longer walking like a drunk. We are cat lovers too (Gladys and I) and I have another cat named Cocoa. Both of these cats have it made. They don’t get along with each other but they are living the life of Riley (young people won’t get that one).

Because of her dementia, Gladys’ sense of humor puzzles me. One minute she’ll be joking about the cat’s medicine, and the next minute she doesn’t remember that the cat is sick – go figure.
