I Went On A Date
Last Saturday, Fred and I went on a date. We didn’t stop by Wendy’s, the Chinese restaurant or Roy’s Cheese Steak. We actually made a reservation, got dressed up and went out to dinner. We had a very nice evening out at McCormick and Schmicks. Nice ambience, good service, good food. It was the first date we’ve gone on since we started taking care of Gladys and we enjoyed every moment of it.
Family caregivers who live with the person they take care of can appreciate how excited we were. Before we started taking care of Gladys, we went out quite frequently. Sometimes we’d just pack up and take a little weekend trip on the spur of the moment. Now we have to get someone to stay with Gladys before we can plan anything away from the house.
We won’t wait so long for the next date.
